FSF and GNU Web Site Redesign
October 22nd, 2007The Free Software Foundation and GNU web sites have been recently redesigned. The redesign has made navigating the web sites a lot easier. The sites also look better than before.
The old look of the sites was very simple, mostly just black and white. It made them look from the 1990s. With some more color, they have finally managed to update the look to the twenty-first century. It’s still not very Web 2.0, but I guess it does not need to, either.
The Free Software Foundation web site is now powered byPlone, a free content management system (CMS). This makes the website conform with all the W3C standards, among other things. I hope it also means that their next redesign will happen sooner than twenty years from now…
