Since its first official release on the 20th of October 2004, Ubuntu Linux has been developing every estimated period in order to reach another edition after the end of this period. Every six months the company plans to develop a new edition of the Ubuntu Linux systems. It’s available in two types; the first type is the desktop type, while the other version of Ubuntu Linux is designed especially for servers. The long term support provided by the Ubuntu Linux is one of the main items encouraging many customers to think of the system. The period of this support remains for about three years in the case of the desktop version. On the other hand, the support remains for even five years in the case of the server version.

On the other hand, there are many different and smaller sub projects that have been found under the name of Ubuntu. They are directed towards various layers of the community. One of the most important sub projects of the Ubuntu is the edubuntu. The name is consisted of two parts, the first part is the “ edu ” referring to education, while the other part is related to Ubuntu. Other subprojects are pretty important to other layers of the community. Xubuntu, kubuntu are also famous sub projects of the Ubuntu Linux systems.

The logo of Ubuntu Linux has never been changed since it was first released. The periodic release of the new versions of Ubuntu Linux is planned to be available including the latest release of GNOME. This plan is applied by releasing the new version or edition of Ubuntu just one month after the release of the latest version of GNOME. Needless to say that Ubuntu Linux is released periodically every six months.

The Ubuntu Linux is based upon making the interface between the user and the computer easier. This is implemented through making the installation process of the program pretty easy and amateur. Also the installation of any other program is designed to be easier than any other computer system. It never requires restarting the computer. The system also supports a very easy contact between the user and the machine. The human interface of the system is available in two main colors, the grey and the orange colors. Also there are shades that make the contact pretty interesting and amusing. The system also uses free software. The free software encourages a large number of customers to rely on the Ubuntu Linux. The Ubuntu Linux is still growing up and one day it will reach the stars.
